SHEET 4

Question of the Diagonal Scale

SHEET NO. 4  (N-22)

DRAW THREE QUESTIONS

Q1. Construct a diagonal scale whose representation fraction is 1:500. The scale should be long enough to measure up to 100 meters. Show a distance upto a single metre and mark on the scale a distance of 82.5 meters and 96.2 meters.

Q2. The distance between Agra and Amritsar railway stations is 600Km. It is represented on a railway map by a line 15cm long. Construct a diagonal scale to measure upto a single kilometer. Calculate the RF and construct a scale and indicate on the scale a distance of 537 Km.

Q3. On a plan a line 20 cm long represents a distance of 400 metre. Contruct a scale to read upto 240 metre. Write its R.F. and show the following lengths on the scale, 172 metre, 45 metre, 8 metre.

EXTRA QUESTIONS

Q1.       Construct a diagonal scale to measure kilometers, hectometers and decameters and long enough to measure 4km, when a distance of 0.25km is represented by One centimeter on map. Find RF of the scale and also the length of the diagonal scale. Indicate on the scale a distance of

i)                    3km, 6 hectometers and 3 decameters

ii)                   2km, 3 hectometers and 8 decameters

iii)                 1.11KM

Q2. A line of 22 cm long on a map represents a distance of 440 meters. Find RF of the scale of map. Draw a diagonal scale for the plan showing upto a single meter and long enough to measure a distance of 400 meters. Measure and mark a distance of  a) 192 meters   b) 315 Meters  c) 208 meters

Q3.    Construct a diagonal scale whose representation fraction is 1:500. The scale should be long enough to measure up to 100 meters. Show a distance upto a single metre and mark on the scale a distance of 82.5 meters and 96.2 meters.
